YESS Award 2020
Dear colleagues,
As some of you may know, I am heading the French initiative on electrochemical energy storage (RS2E). Each year since 2015, to reward promising young scientists, my network organizes the YESS Award.
This year, the contest was reshaped in view of encouraging risk-taking ideas and challenging projects. This year, the first winner won’t get any longer a 10 000 euros prize but a full year post-doc scholarship amounting to 70 000 euros. This includes a one full year salary and a lump sum for operating costs in order to carry out his/her dreaming research project in one of the RS2E lab that he/she will select as the most appropriate to carry out his/her project. To participate, young scientists have to submit an innovative project of a few pages before August 31.
The submitted projects can fall within the topic of (i) batteries and supercapacitors or (ii) in-situ characterization techniques or (iii) systems integration.
Among our latest laureates, for the first YESS Award version, we were glad to award Dr. Claire Villeveille, Dr. Tazdin Amietszajew from Coventry University or Prof. Matthew McDowell from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
Please, find enclosed a leaflet with supplementary information (application form, terms and conditions).
Could you spread the news in your labs and allow your bright young minds to stand out?
Thanks and bests,
Prof. Jean-Marie Tarascon
